50 years of litter on Skye, the story continues.

Posted on

As Scotland's second most popular tourism area the Isle of Skye and its coasts are a magnet for visitors from across the globe.

Fifty years ago an academic, Gerald Scott, undertook the very first survey of marine litter which we know now as simply 'beach cleans'.

Last summer Dr Tom Stanton from Loughborough University brought a team to Skye to follow up on Gerald Scott's work.

Here's his story which was premiered last night at the university. If you are concerned about the global pandemic of coastal pollution we urge you to watch.

Please share widely and again this year Tom will be returning to Skye to follow up on their work from last year.
