Happy Christmas from the SLEF Trustees
Posted on
The chair, Roger Cottis and the trustees of the Skye and Lochalsh Environment Forum would like to wish all of our members and supporters a very Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year.
It has been another busy year with a range of topics from the debate about a National Park for Skye and Raasay, the launch of the Highland Council's Ecology Strategy and Action Plan and the ongoing concerns on the impact of renewable energy projects, major electrical transmission facilities, workers camps and continuing threats to the marine and terrestrial environment.
SLEF was delighted again to host Dr Tom Stanton from the 50 Years of Litter on Skye team from Loughborough, Keele and Nottingham Universities. We have reported on their two week beach cleans and survey work in July and August and all being well we hope that they will be returning in 2025.
We hope too that you have enjoyed reading our newsletters and content on our website and popular Facebook page.
With a reducing numbers of trustees if you would like to join our small team please get in touch. We also welcome young people to become part of SLEF's trustees.
Thank you again for your continuing interest in SLEF and our door is always open.
You can read our annual report for the year ended 31st March 2024 at the link below.
